Cancer Update - follicular non-hodgkins lymphoma

I went to the oncologist today to find out results of my recent scans and blood tests to see how well I responded to my latest treatment of 4 rounds of Rituxan. I did not receive as good news as I was expecting. The cancer did not respond as well as it did the last time I received this treatment. I was kicked out of the clinical trial because my response wasn't high enough.
The good news is, I did get a decent response just not a great one. Now I have a decision to make about how I want to proceed. I am leaning toward doing maintenance Rituxan. I would receive one infusion every 3 months for the next two years to try and keep the cancer in check where it is now.
A decision will be made by the end of the week.

Contest - Looking for FAMILIES {NJ Family Photographer}

Jane Bingham Photography is expanding. I am opening my doors to family shoots. So I am holding a contest to win a free on-location family session with me. This will be a good old fashioned random "drawing names out of a hat" contest. If I receive more then 30 entries, then there will be 2 families each to win a full session with me. The rules are as follows...

1. This is for families with 3 - 10 members only.
2. Pets are welcome to be included in those numbers but there must be at least 2 human family members.
3. The winners will receive 1 free full session.
4. The contest is for a free session only and does not include prints, products or digital image files.
5. Deadline for entries is April 20, 2009.
6. The free session must take place between April 24, 2009 and May 3, 2009
7. The free session must take place in the Tri-state area.
8. The winning family/families must sign a model release so their images can be used on my website, blog and for any possible advertising.
9. Professional photographers may not enter.
10. No purchase necessary.

How to enter:
Email the following information to JaneBingham@gmail.com

1. Your first and last name.
2. Your email address.
3. Your phone number.
4. How many members in the family.

In the subject line please put "April Contest"

BONUS chances to win... Your first entry must be done through email. After that each day you may enter additional times by leaving a comment on the blog under the contest blog entry. In the comment just leave your full name and email address only.
You may enter once a day on the blog only but you can enter every day until the end of the contest. For each entry I will add another piece of paper with your name on it into the hat for the drawing. That gives you up to 11 chances to win!
But remember, your first entry must be done through email.

Changing again

I know, I know...I changed the look again. The dark colors with all that black just didn't fit me or my business! Bright, light and airy suits my style and personality so much more.

Photographer Self-Portrait

I, like many professional photographers, do not like to be in front of the camera. I much prefer being behind the camera, seeing my vision come to life in the view finder.

Since
1. I was wanting to practice a new (new to me) lighting technique.
and
2. I desperately needed a new image of myself for my website.

I decided to do a self-portrait today.

For those interested...the new lighting technique I was working with was off-camera flash. I used just one flash unit, firing through an umbrella. This will be so much nicer then lugging my huge tungsten light and softbox to on location studio set-ups.

Duck, Duck, Duck, Swan?

These were taken at Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton, NJ.

It is just a tiny zoo, not a whole lot to do or see. When I say tiny, I mean tiny with a lowercase t! It appeared that maybe half the zoo was closed. Not much to see but these ducks did make for interesting models. Also, the peacocks were showing off quite a bit. I will post an image or two of them in a day or so.
